The Aetna is one of the nation's leaders in health care, dental, pharmacy, group life, disability and long-term care insurance and employee benefits. Aetna insurance Company established in 1850 and it is located in Hartford. The company's first president is Eliphalet A. Bulkeley. In 1853 The Annuity department separates from Aetna and is incorporated as Aetna Life Insurance Company. The name "Aetna" is retained to take advantage of the good reputation of the original Aetna. In 1899 Aetna enters the field of Health insurance and became one of the first stock insurance companies to enter the health insurance business.

Aetna has refused to pay for all our simple doctor visits. Don't get Aetna and if you already have it, well just get rid of it and don't renew. It would have been so much cheaper for us to simply pay out of pocket when we had a cold than to have all three claims denied and not payed and us having to pay all of our doctor's bills and Aetna on top of everything when they do nothing. Aetna does suck!.

Aetna sucks. . . .after paying the premiums you cannot even afford to go to the doctor . . co insurance is way too high especially when coupled with co payments . . they screw employees, rape their paychecks, and then refuse to pay claims or send a threatening letter asking if there is a third party responsible that they can sue. When I hurt my back during child labor, I then got a letter from Aetna asking who was responsible for hurting my back b/c they wanted to seek damamges!!!!!! PATHETIC . . they are in the business of killing people, not insuring them for health!.

I am shocked and appalled at Aetna's cost and how they decline needed surgeries to get out of paying for them. I would not recommend Aetna at all. It is a money pit that will let you down in an emergency. they also have not come through with a medical disabiltiy claim that I am entitled even though the state has approved and is paying. It's really sad to pay so much into insurance policies for so long and then they deny to pay claims and approve treatment..

Seriously, Aetna is a terrible company! I'm in the middle of trying to get several claims reprocessed right now and it is a NIGHTMARE! They've given me the runaround for almost 4 months and one of my bills has already gone to medical collections because they have stalled on paying out what they owe for so long. They repeatedly claim "never receiving" paperwork and no one you speak with seems to be able to help you. They are the ultimate "pass the buck to someone else" company. I've even caught their customer service reps LYING to me. The most frustrating experience I've ever had in terms of health care. Aetna is ruining my LIFE and my CREDIT!.

They limit In-Network physicians in your area, deny your medical bills, change your prescriptions without your consent, and rob you blind of your monthly premiums. THIS INSURANCE COMPANY WILL DENY YOUR MEDICAL CLAIMS AND NOT PAY YOUR PHYSICIANS. Although your office visit copays are inexpensive, Aetna won't pay your physician's bill and the physician will in turn send you the bill due to Aetna's complicated and twisted billing/claim processing method. Many physicians give up from resubmitting repeatedly for payment and just send YOU the bill for an office visit which can easily reach beyond $500 for your kid's immunizations. Dirt-poor customer service tells you that this company is being run like a mob..
