The Aetna is one of the nation's leaders in health care, dental, pharmacy, group life, disability and long-term care insurance and employee benefits. Aetna insurance Company established in 1850 and it is located in Hartford. The company's first president is Eliphalet A. Bulkeley. In 1853 The Annuity department separates from Aetna and is incorporated as Aetna Life Insurance Company. The name "Aetna" is retained to take advantage of the good reputation of the original Aetna. In 1899 Aetna enters the field of Health insurance and became one of the first stock insurance companies to enter the health insurance business.

Get a clue how to handle paper work. You people are a joke. 8 months and a new 160 day extension to resolve a claim. Will you ever get your stuff straight. Or maybe you are just giving the runaround until we give up. Not quite. You suck..

They may be one of the largest, but they are also the worst! Aetna PA moved me from HMO 10 Plan where I had "open" access capbility to HMO 15 (requiring referrals and a primary physician) without ever notifying me. They sent me a letter with changes to my current HMO 10 Plan on August 1, 2009. The mangager says the letter tells me to review all provisions of my policy..this new policy has a declaration page with no information on it, not my name, ID, type plan, NOTHING... is it mine? It does not tell me what plan I am under. Customer Service and managers don't know anything... it's like a big black whole. I cannot believe they are able to get away with this..

BUYER BEWARE - INDIVIDUAL AETNA PLANS DO NOT COVER MATERNITY CARE OF ANY KIND. THE BROKER DIDNT INFORM ME AND YOU DONT SIGN ANYTHING THAT STATES THIS. MAKE SURE YOU READ ANY AND ALL EXCLUSIONS I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. I HAD NO IDEA THAT HAVING A BABY WOULD BE OMITED FROM ANY HEALTH CARE PLAN..

Two OBGYNs within a 50 mile radius of my hometown? FIFTY miles, and there's only TWO. Their website is confusing and misleading and every time I call they are either closed (um... people have health issues other times than M-F 9-5, idiots) or treat me like an idiot for not knowing the answers based on their confusing website. I'm considering going without coverage at all rather than them taking $60 out of my paycheck every two weeks..

Aetna raised our (wife and I) rate to our plan 80% this last month (october 09). For no reason at all, we have no previous issues and rarely used their service. We're dropping them. I now tell everyone I know not to ever use them. They are a bunch of white collared criminals who care more about profit then taking care of their members. Aetna SUCKS!.

I had my 45th birthday and my present from Aetna was an increase in my coverage from $729.56 per year to $1,854.84 per year. So long Aetna. I can get the same coverage for less than I was paying you before I turned 45. They may as well close the doors..

Aetna health plans are the absolute worst plans on the market, they actually tried to get out of paying for my appendix emergency surgery when my appendix burst becasue they said the doctor who operated on my was not a particapating doctor....lol it was an emergency, like I was going to ask...hey do you belong to Aetna as I was being wheeled into the operating room, took 3 months to finally get this straight, I ended up paying a good amount out of my own pocket since my deductables & co-pays are sooooo high...Aetna does suck!.

Aetna cost sharing health plan for family with 5k deductable & 10k for family sucks big time, only good for catistrofic illness, nobody uses 5 k in a year other than a serious illness so pretty much we have no health coverage, I hate this Aetna small group cost sharing plan & can't wait for President Obama to get universal coverage so I can dump Aetna and they can keep thier greedy money plan for themselves..it sucks big time!.
